Speaking in Toronto this Week - June 12th and 13th
I’m headed to Toronto on Thursday to speak at two interesting events. First my good friend Mitch Joel and I will be chatting about all things social media at the Canadian Marketing Association, From Mass To Grass on June 12th. On the 13th Mitch and I head over to NXNE and are joined my Michael McCarty, President of EMI Music Publishing Canada for a roundtable discussion on the future of the music industry and the Internet called, It Better be Free, or How Can You Sell What Others Are Practically Giving Away?
If you are make it out to either event, don’t forget to say hello:)

I’ll see what I can do to make it
Really looking forward to this week… music, social media, word of mouth, close friends… what more could one ask for?
Looking forward to nxne!!!
great shannon, see you there:)
both interesting topic esp. the one at at the NXNE!
im waiting to hear how it will be.
I didn’t really think much of technology when it comes to social media let alone its influence on marketing, the arts, and this society’s daily function until I started reading your blogs and following up on issues you write about.
Your discussions brought me to a new level of awareness and shifted my mind’s eye to a different perspective. The discussions on all of this is pretty broad and is such a mindful, but REALLY interesting.
I wish I had the time to sit in on an open conference and observe just how detailed the discussion gets
I tried to follow the discussion today via twitter but only 5 people were twittering from the mass2grass conference (tag #mass2grass). Pretty sad! David, It would be great to get a recap or blog on key points during your session. Have fun at NXNE … wish I could be there!
Hi David!
If you have the chance take a look at this:
http://www2.parl.gc.ca/HousePublications/Publication.aspx?Docid=3570473&file=4
It is a little dry to read and probably wont be coming into force as written now, but it is worth having a look at.
I think it would be a step forward to protect the music industry.
What do you think?
Julie
I was at Mass to Grass and really enjoyed your talk with Mitch. I came back to the office just raving about how smart you are - a bit of a schoolgirl rave but honestly, I was really impressed with your knowledge and am now subscribing to your blog.
Thanks!
