Freedom to make things.

Don’t underestimate how important it is. Make something you love. It doesnt always work out but the point is to try. I was listening to Margaret Atwood on CBC and she was talking about if the point of poetry is to be active or passive. She said something one of her old teachers use to say was “is it alive or dead”. You may not always succeed but who cares. We try to make things that are alive. The internet allows us to do things we couldn’t before. Freedom. Thats why i love it.

Yes, yes and yes!
It’s the only thing important in life, with Internet or without it, inside and outside, freedom is all!
P. S. Photo is great! from the web?

Have you ever considered licensing your music under a free license? (Or, maybe you’re already doing so?) Written on the topic at all? I’m interested to hear your thoughts on free culture, haven’t been able to find anything with a search.

I just bought the “kill the light” tune from itunes and it got me thinking … how much do you actually make from each song? I suspect it is negligible.

So my question is, how much freedom do you have to sell your own music directly? Do you still need a label and someone else controlling decisions and how you sell your music? If you didn’t, that would be freedom … complete control of every piece in the value chain.

PS. Kill the lights is really awesome!! I hope it does very well for you!
