Bush gave BILLIONS to banks so they could give their CEO's Millions in bonses and UNCLE TOM wants to give us $500.00 each or $1000.00 per house hold. Even G. Bush gave us more than that and he didn't give a shit about us. That should help all of us save our homes from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae.

Rick, I was just wondering if all you people have to reveal your political preference before being hired on CNN. It is so obvious which side CNN and all the jounalists are leaning. Obama can do no wrong and Mccain can do no right. Frankly it is getting ridiculous.

Oh man, this made me laugh out loud. I don't really watch CNN, but I did catch this guy saying something about twittering the other day. And yeah, it made me feel a little uncomfortable too. But I wasn't really sure why. I mean, on the surface it seems rediculous, but any mass media taking advantage of social networking smells like progress to me. /:

I think the “uncomfortable” comes into play because it feels like they are invading our domain (social media). Sure we want to let all our friends in, but big corporations and news organizations whom we don't necessarily trust or respect?

I think it's just something we have to get used to. Social media is primarily a marketing tool afterall, no matter how well they disguise it with "social" applications.

That "uncomfortable" feeling is also somthing to keep in mind when smaller people/groups use it to market. A new band (for example)can just as quickly alienate people with it as gather a fan base. A soft sell is sometimes better.

CNN is my primary source of news but you know what I haven't even tuned in today. Glen Beck and I have absolutely zero in common and he has in the past made a complete mockery of things I value and believe in. One thing i really believe is that we can learn the most by those who are most different from us and CNN has responded outwardly and proactively to my viewpoints and suggestions on media terrorism. Don't ever think you can't make a difference. That I was impressed with, because I think they were so emmeshed in what they were doing it took a voice to say wait a minute, hold up here, this is what I am seeing/feeling/believing. I don't watch television to feel validated or to say hell ya...and i think robust exchanges are awesome and not falling into the spoon fed ideologies presented, unless that is what you are starving for. If you strongly disagree, maybe it helps to pinpoint what you agree with. If it gets to ya in the gut..that is significant though I think.

@David, Why do my comments keep getting deleted? I realized after my first post that I didn't totally answer the question you posed. I am sorry for posting twice but I am trying to enter into a discussion, that is all. It might help if you specified the rules of the blog or explained why you delete certain things. We are all here to support you, but we don't always have to agree with everything you post or do we? I guess I am confused. Afterall, it is your blog and you can delete whatever you want. It's just a shame that I buy all your cd's and go to your concerts and promote you whenever I can...so, I guess I would just like a little courtesy. I am hesitant now to write anything more as I am not sure what I am doing wrong?

Most Sincerely,
Yvette

I believe CNN is spending so much time on Gustav because of the disasterous aftermath that occured with hurricaine Katrina. In light of the Republican convention this week, Americans are waiting with baited breath to see how much Bush can screw this one up (if by chance a similar destruction occurs). If it's mishandled, Obama wins. If it's handled with organization, caring and compassion, McCain wins. It's all politics! Republicans are good at winning elections because their platform IMO is based on fear. Obama is all about hope. I believe CNN tries to balance fact and opinion unlike Fox news! Most stations are right winged anyway. What's wrong with a little leftie like CNN. They do have right/independents like Glenn Beck to balance out. But who cares! Can't people think for themselves anymore? I would hope people can see through the smoke and mirrors that are on all news channels and just enjoy CNN for what it is. Great commentating! I watched the coverage of the DNC and the Republican commentary afterwards on Larry King Live and loved every minute of the debate. It's just too bad most Americans don't do their homework before the debates...but unfortunately most people watch only the conventions before making a voting choice. As for the tweets, I don't have time for that. I'm too busy ironing my shirts for work in front of the TV...CNN to be specific! LOL.
